These figures will be estimates rather than exact measurements — calculated using factors such as journey distance, vehicle type, number of passengers, estimated alternative travel behaviour, and recognised emissions factors. A passenger who joins an existing ride rather than driving separately can be just as important as the person offering the spare seat.
