About TwendeCar

Going the same way? Go together.

TwendeCar is a ride-sharing platform built around a simple idea: if people are already travelling in the same direction, they should have an easier way to travel together.

Whether it's a trip from London to Manchester, a journey to the airport, a regular commute, a football match, a wedding, a festival, or a community event, TwendeCar helps drivers with spare seats connect with people who need a ride.

We are not trying to create another taxi app.

TwendeCar is designed for shared journeys that are already happening. A driver plans their own trip, offers available seats, and passengers going the same way can request to join. The driver remains in control of who they travel with, while passengers can view profiles, ratings, vehicle details, and verification information before requesting a seat.

Why we created TwendeCar

Too many journeys are made with empty seats. At the same time, people spend money travelling separately to the same destinations, struggle to find affordable transport to events, or rely on informal messages asking:

“Is anyone driving?”

TwendeCar brings that behaviour into one trusted platform. Instead of searching through group chats, passengers can find journeys that match where and when they need to travel. Instead of driving with empty seats, drivers can share the journey and receive a fair contribution towards their travel costs.

More than event ride-sharing

TwendeCar started with the idea of helping people travelling to the same events connect. But people travel together for many reasons — TwendeCar can support journeys such as:

City-to-city travel

Regular commuting

Airport journeys

University travel

Football matches

Concerts & festivals

Weddings & parties

Work trips

Community gatherings

Weekend travel

Holiday journeys

Corporate commuting

Events remain an important part of TwendeCar, but they are only one way people can find others travelling the same direction.

How TwendeCar works

1

A driver creates a journey they're already planning to make and chooses how many spare seats to offer.

2

Passengers search for journeys, or discover rides connected to events.

3

When a passenger finds a suitable ride, they send a request.

4

The driver reviews the passenger and decides whether to accept or decline.

5

If accepted, the passenger completes payment within the required time and the booking is confirmed.

6

In-app messaging, arrival notifications, pickup confirmation, trip status, ratings and reviews support the journey itself.

Fair contributions, not taxi fares

TwendeCar is built around cost sharing. For ordinary private drivers, passenger payments should be a fair contribution towards a journey the driver was already planning to make — we do not want drivers competing to charge the highest possible price.

TwendeCar can calculate suggested and maximum contributions based on factors such as journey distance and reasonable travel costs. Our goal is to keep shared journeys affordable, transparent, and fair.

Trust and safety

Sharing a car means travelling with another person, so trust matters. TwendeCar is designed to support:

  • Identity verification
  • Driving licence verification
  • Vehicle verification
  • Insurance checks
  • Ratings and reviews
  • In-app messaging
  • Pickup confirmation PINs
  • Reporting and blocking
  • Journey sharing
  • Trusted contacts
  • Dispute handling

Verification does not remove all risk, but it helps create a more accountable community.

Better use of the journeys already happening

Many cars travel with several empty seats. When people who would otherwise travel separately share one existing journey, fewer vehicles may be needed for the same trip — helping reduce unnecessary journeys, congestion, fuel use, parking pressure, and associated emissions.

We believe the most sustainable car journey is often the one that does not need another car.

Our environmental approach

Community at the centre

TwendeCar is not only about searching for rides. Our Community feature gives users a transport-focused social feed where they can post things like:

I need a ride

I'm offering a ride

Who's going to this event?

Anyone travelling to Manchester this Friday?

Other users can respond, comment, offer a ride, or connect through the platform — bringing the community behaviour that already happens informally into a safer and more useful environment.

TwendeCar for Work

We also want TwendeCar to help organisations make employee travel more efficient. Companies will be able to create private TwendeCar communities where staff can:

  • Share commutes
  • Offer rides to colleagues
  • Organise travel to company events
  • Create recurring journeys
  • Use agreed pickup hubs
  • Discover colleagues travelling similar routes

This can help organisations reduce parking pressure, support employees with travel costs, and encourage more efficient commuting.

What guides us

Our principles

People first

Travel should feel safe, respectful, and human.

Fair pricing

Cost sharing should remain fair and transparent.

Driver choice

Drivers decide who joins their vehicle.

Passenger confidence

Passengers should have enough information to make informed decisions.

Privacy by design

Private addresses, personal documents, and sensitive account information should not be exposed unnecessarily.

Smarter travel

We want to make better use of journeys already happening.

Community

TwendeCar should make it easier for people going the same way to help each other.

Verified drivers

In-app messaging

Secure payments

Our mission

Our mission is to make shared travel easier, safer, more affordable, and more connected. We want TwendeCar to become the place people think of when they ask:

“Is anyone else going my way?”

Because sometimes the best journey is not another taxi, another car, or another expensive ticket. It is simply travelling together.

TwendeCar — Going the same way? Go together.
